Last social network standing...
I deleted my MySpace.

I deleted my Twitter.

I never had a Facebook.

But apparently I've had a Friendster profile since 2005 without making a single friend. I'm keeping that one. That's my kind of social network.

The fact that you even kept the MySpace this long amazes me. I remember when I first found you on there, sent you a message, and you deliberately replied to me with an email just to avoid using the site. You really are an old man who chases kids off his lawn.

And we love you for it.

Grandpa.

LiveJournal is technically a social network.

LiveJournal is technically a social network, but it's really a blogging site with networked blogs.

People come here to write and share real content, not to superpoke each other.

Exactly! It's the signal-to-noise ratio that has kept me away from those other sites as well. Granted, I've only been to them like once or twice, but [PROTRACTED, NESTED SIMILIE WARNING] it's like walking home from a really good movie on a Saturday night and passing a dance club just when the guy opens the door and all the haze and bass and crowd noise comes out at you and you get blown back like the Maxell Guy and your mellow is totally harshed.

Yeah.

I've kept most of the accounts I have. I rarely check them though. This is how I justify my need to belong.

I visit my Myspace account when I quite literally have nothing else to do. Every time I visit it, though, I'm reminded why I don't. As you mentioned before, it's the a**iest a** that ever a**ed.

Twitter's fluffiness grates against my soul like barbed wire soaked in battery acid.

Facebook I like. Connected with many a classmate from high school on it. However, my newsfeed is being filled up with pointless and meaningless quizzes. So it's like LiveJournal in 2002.

Now you've done it, though. I'm gonna have to add you on Friendster. ;-)

Facebook is actually very good. You just need to block all the stupid tag appz (like poke for example) and then hide everything you don't like in your feed. It's really not hard. Basically, it's about reigning it in to make it do what you want.

Facebook is good until people want to connect with you who you really don't want to share info with. It's so awkward to keep ignoring requests from coworkers or friends of my parents.

i just never answer the initial request if i don't want to add them. but the privacy settings are pretty deep - you can block out whoever you want from pretty much whatever you want.
