Last weekend lostidol and I accompanied greatbiggary to the first annual Make Magazine Maker Faire. I'm sure Gary will have a comprehensive, photo-enhanced juggernaut of coverage coming up on his journal soon, so I'll just do what I do and make with the bullet points.
As someone whose propensity for making things is limited to making online journal entries, I was most excited to meet the folks at the Six Apart/LiveJournal table. I had a nice long chat with kevink, and I admit I got more starstruck than a reasonable person should have upon meeting ljkrissy of news fame.
At the front gate they were handing out canvas bags branded with the word O'REILLY. Every time I saw one I wanted it to be followed by another that said "YA REILLY" and then "NO WAI!" I hate you, Internet.
Right between the battle bots and a steam-powered buggy we ran into cookiepants, whose pants were not, as promised, made of cookies. It was good to see him again nonetheless.
One of the things I was really looking forward to at the Maker Faire was meeting the man behind Cockeyed.com, Rob Cockerham. Sure he didn't have a table, wasn't scheduled for any panels, and had never made any mention of being there, but he just had to be there, right?
Well, after two days of Cockerham-free Makecitement, just as we were leaving the Maker Faire never to return, who should we find arriving with his wife Stacy and baby June?

That's right, miracles do happen at the Maker Faire. We told Rob how awesome he is, and then directed him to the restrooms. He mentions us on the last page of his Maker Faire recap:
"I enjoyed meeting quite a few people, running into some old friends, and meeting some Cockeyed.com readers."
Yeah, that's totally us. Jealous?
