LA Times Festival of Books - This weekend!

LA Times Festival of Books

Come and meet me at the LA Times Festival of Books on April 29 and 30, 2006. Admission is FREE!

The festival is being held on the UCLA campus. Click here for directions.

I will be appearing in booth #610 with the members of the Authors' Coalition and Red Engine Press. Our booth is in Dickson Court, right across from the LA Times Stage.

If you've always wanted to meet me, talk to me about me, or wrestle me to the ground and smear peanut butter on me, this is your chance.

Kat as Vivian
Also, on Saturday from noon until six, come and meet...

Kat
as
Vivian Gray
and
Carolina
as
Sunny Sasaki

Carolina as Sunny

The girls will be circulating around the fair, handing out Oblivion Society flyers and radiating post-apocalyptic charm.

See you there!

P.P.S. I got my book in the mail the other day. I gave brief consideration to strategicly leaving the cards in places that bright hipsters would find them. Then I realized that I don't go anywhere or know anyone. That made me depressed and so I sat in my office with the lights off listening to Allanis Morrisette for 40 minutes, because really, she's the only one that understand my pain.

So thanks. Thanks a lot man!

I hope you're happy.

It was the least I could do after my "very special" inscription.

I have a problem with distributing the cards along the same lines ... they're too well done. I want to keep them all for myself because they're so cool. If you want people to give something away, make it so they wouldn't mind parting with it! :)

Okay, now let me get this straight....

If I come to this I get to:
(1) Finally meet the great and awesome Marcus
(2) See two very lovely ladies in character
(3) Pick up more ObSoc wh0ring material

And it's all FREE?! Oh, I am so there! And I am definitely grabbing a camera. (We are allowed to nab some pictures with you and/or the girls, right? :P)

Somewhere, in the back of my mind, there's a song parody waiting to be unleashed on this subject. But perhaps its better if it just stays in its dusty mental corner.

Actually, he's not the one that I...well...perhaps I better not go getting myself in trouble here....

But yes, there is always:
(4) Wrestle Marcus to the ground and smear peanut butter on him

Kat's a hottie. good pick for viv.

i'd like to see you do one of these cons and bring a Sherri model with you.

Honestly the reason I didn't make arrangements for a Sherri is because I thought it would be too hot for the costume to be comfortable on the days of the fair.

I'm dumb.

Your local comic book shop would be a good place to leave a stack of ObSoc postcards. Plus, you could badger the owner into carrying a few copies on hand once he sees what a good seller it is!
